Myrtles Diary Part 6
Saturday 13 June – 9:45am, I am sitting besides my husband, and he’s looking absolutely exhausted this morning – ohhh that he could have a decent sleep !
Apparently, Mike tried to have some breakfast – but choked so badly, they’re putting in a ‘feeder line’ because he is not getting enough fluids, he’s passing water, but it’s too – concentrated ! …….more fluids & food is required to build up his failing strength.
Mr Dean Rusk….visited to checkup on Mike, stating he wanted to leave the trachea in for afew more days yet, because Mike wasn’t eating or drinking, and his breathing was ‘laboured’
He confirmed the ‘feedline’ plus an extra boost of calcium – Mike was advisedto “tell the nurse immediately” if his fingers began tingling, also around his mouth.
Gave Mike’s feet a massage with Nivea Nourishing Care, his feet were so dry,his skin just absorbed the lotion like a sponge….good for my own hands as well……… I’ll treat myself later on tonight !

Dearest Bro & Sis Terekia,
I just had to stop in and let you know I am thinking of you both, and all the whanau too… thank you Karina for emailing this link! I’m so very sorry to hear how ill you have been Brother T, and for such a long time.
I had something in mind to say to perhaps encourage and brighten your day in some small way, but then as I continued to read your intriguing descriptions and intimate ponderings from your amazing ‘intrepid journey,’ I realised that it was you who was providing strength and courage to me! I don’t doubt that anybody reading your blog (ill or not) will be inspired to live with more attention, conviction and appreciation.
Let me just say that I spent some of the best memories of my growing up years under your roof, in your car, and best of all round your dinner table ha! And although I can’t be there, please know you have both made a difference in my life, and today has been no exception.
Thank you, and love you!
Frances and family xo
